Knee braces, Compex muscle stimulation, Squid Go compression and Compex massage guns all have different jobs. It can be useful to know what each tool is for, but no device is a substitute for an appropriate rehabilitation plan.
Start with a clear goal
Are you trying to support a knee during movement, work on muscle activation or make a recovery session more comfortable? A knee brace may provide support or guide movement when recommended. Compex electrical muscle stimulation may complement some muscle work. Squid Go applies cyclical compression, while a massage gun delivers percussion to soft tissue. These are different tools, not interchangeable solutions.
Put the plan ahead of the product
A clinician can help you understand the injury, any restrictions and which exercises to progress. Suitable movement, strengthening, rest and a gradual return to activity remain central. If a tool has a useful role, agree how and when to use it, then pay attention to whether it actually fits your goals.
Use each tool within its limits
Follow the instructions for the exact model you own. Check brace fit and prescribed hinge settings; review electrical stimulation contraindications; confirm that compression is suitable if swelling is unexplained or you have circulation concerns; and avoid using a massage gun over a new injury or painful area without advice. Stop using any device that causes unexpected pain, numbness or concerning skin changes.
Keep your routine manageable
You do not need every recovery tool at once. A simple routine that you can follow consistently, review with your clinician and adjust as you improve is usually more useful than stacking devices without a purpose.
